Michele rents for marathon quilting - four in one day!
Bedscape Designs HQ Rental Terms
If you have time please arrange to pick up the HQ leaders so you can pin your pieces on at home. This can save you up to an hour of rental time.
- Find the middle of your top and begin pinning the quilt piece where the leader middle is marked. Do the same for the bottom piece.
- The end you pin to the leader will be the last part you quilt.
- If you have sewed several sections together for the back try to pin the back on so the seams are parallel to the leader. This will prevent puckering. If you would rather not do this it means you will have to be very careful.
You should bring:
- The first time you come I would encourage you to bring a quilt to practice on. If you don't have a spare reject, grab an old sheet, cut it in half and sandwich some batting between two halves.
- Please buy a thread by Superior. I recommend their varigated line which is called King Tut. If you want to see your stitching choose a contrasting thread. If not, find a thread that blends into your piecing.
- I would prefer you choose either Quilter's Dream or Warm and Natural batting. The batting should be about one inch larger that your quilt top in all directions.
- The bottom piece should be about four inches bigger than your top in all directions. Try to make your top and bottom as square as you can.
- Have an idea of how you would like to quilt your work. Think about how you will move the needle across the quilt without having to tie off too many times. Practice with a pencil on a big piece of paper.
Rates:
First two hours: $40.00 per hour. This assumes that I will be coaching you on how to best use the machine. If you do not need coaching I can waive this fee.
All time after the first two hours will be $20.00 an hour.
Please remember - long-arm quilting takes lots of practice!
